With 9 Faculties across 3 Campuses, 18 Departments, 2 Centres of Excellence for Research (CETEMPS and DEWS) and 2 Research Centres (CERFIS, M&MOCS), the University of L'Aquila is one of the most innovative medium-sized universities in Italy for the quality of its academic education and research.

Over the last few years, knowledge transfer from the academic to the business world was ensured through the launch of 11 academic and research-based spin-offs, of which 9 are still active. Spin-offs are one of the key strengths of the University of L'Aquila in the world of scientific and technological research and represent the natural evolution of knowledge nurtured in an academic context, leading to technological innovation for the region and beyond the regional borders.
